Chinese company Honor also showcased the new smart app ‘PocketVision’ with the new color variant of Honor 20 Pro at the ongoing IFA 2019 trade show in Berlin. This smart app is based on AI technology. It is specially designed for users with low vision so that they can read small letters easily.
Pocket Vision is a smart app. It is based on Honor’s AI technology as well as works with the help of high resolution camera in Honor 20 series smartphones. This app helps users with low vision read documents. There are three modes available – text-to-speech mode, zoom-in mode and negative image mode. In text-to-speech mode, the app reads the selected text aloud to the user who selects it.
It works in English, Portuguese, Spanish, Chinese, Italian and German. The app converts images into text with the help of HiAI platform and optical character recognition (OCR) technology. In the zoom-in mode, the app takes the help of an 8-megapixel telephoto lens with the 48-megapixel camera of the Honor 20 Series phone to give better visibility to the user by zooming the text. Many types of color filters are available in negative mode. In this mode the contrast of text is improved so that the user can see the image properly. The Pocket Vision Huawei App is available on the gallery. It can be installed in any Honor smartphone. But the company says that the Honor 20 series smartphone gets better app results.
